One of the most well-known museums is the v and a, which was established in 1852. it is the world’s biggest museum of decorative arts and design with a permanent exhibition of over 4 and a half million objects. these days, the museum covers a huge 12.5 acres & 145 art galleries. it is a massive tourist attraction &, in 2006, it received 2,400,000 visitors.
London is renowned for its shopping, so you’ll find everything from quirky independent outlets and markets, to designer outlets.
One of the city’s most renowned outlets is Selfridges, which is on Oxford street. It was earliest opened in 1909 by Harry Selfridge, who wanted to make shopping fun rather than just a chore. He succeeded & the store now boasts four other branches in various cities throughout britain.
London has a wide range of activities to do at night, containing vip cocktail bars, night clubs & eateries.
London’s eateries cater to every budget & taste. From discount eats like Pizza Express, Pizza Hut & Bella Italia, to high-end eateries, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The city also has a wide range of Michelin starred eateries, including Tom Aikens, Umu & Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, although you’ll have to book in advance to get a table at one of these locations.
As its such a huge place, London is really easy to get to. in actual fact, its connected well by rail & has some historic train stations, including London Bridge, London Victoria, London Euston & Liverpool st. in addition to this, the city also boasts three big airports, Heathrow; Stanstead & Luton.
Driving in London can be hard because of the congestion charge, however the city boasts a wonderful underground & bus network to help people get around.
