London is the capital of england & one of the world’s leading finance, business and cultural centres. in addition to this, the city’s influence on politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion & culture make it a massive international city.



London boasts four World Heritage Sites, which are the palace of westminster, Westminster Abbey & St. Margaret’s Church, the Tower of London, historic Greenwich, & the royal botanic gardens in kew.



In 1863, rising traffic congestion on roads in london city centre led to the construction of the world’s first underground railway system, the london underground.



The city was badly bombed when world war two and several people died. following the war, several buildings in the city had to be built again.



Following world war 2, immigration transformed London into one of the much culturally & racially diverse cities in Europe. Immigration wasn’t always smooth, because there were major race riots in brixton and notting hill, but intergration was definitely more smith than in other english regions.



The museums and galleries in London are the finest in the country. One of the favourite galleries is the Tate Modern, which is placed on the site of the former Bankside Power Station. The art gallery opened in 2000 and it boasts a vast variety of permanent exhibits by artists for instance Warhol, Peter Blake and Picasso, as well as touring exhibitions. entry to multitude exhibitions is free.



London is famous for its shopping, so you’ll find everything from quirky independent stores and markets, to designer stores.



One of the city’s most famous stores is Selfridges, which is on Oxford st. It was earliest opened in 1909 by Harry Selfridge, who wanted to make shopping fun rather than just a chore. He succeeded & the store now boasts 4 other branches in various cities throughout great britain.



London has a wide variety of activities to do in the evening, including exclusive bars, nightclubs & pubs.



London’s pubs cater to every budget & taste. From low cost eats like Pizza Express, Pizza Hut & Bella Italia, to high end pubs, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The city also has a wide variety of Michelin starred pubs, which include Tom Aikens, Umu & Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, even though you’ll have to book far in advance for a table at one of these locations.
