A tasty Chinese meal has become a regular pleasure for diners seeking somehting different from the regular fare. Chinese cuisine is now an integral part of the dining experience for many Americans with a host of restaurants, large and small dotted all over the cities and towns of the United States. Norwalk, Connecticut is just one example of rising taste for Chinese food with a substantial number of locations to cater for the Norwalk population. Where can you find the best Chinese restaurants in Norwalk, CT?

THREE CANDIDATES

First stop could be the GOLDEN MILLION Chinese restaurant in Fort Point St, a well-situated eating place with a great menu and reasonable rates. The Golden Million has all the popular dishes you would expect from a quality Chinese restaurant and is a spacious place where you can relax while dining out. The opening hours are very favorable whether you visit for a lunch or a late evening meal.

The RICE KING restaurant on Westport Avenue is another good quality option for anyone who enjoys Chinese or Cantonese cuisine. Their tasty dishes will probably have you visiting the restaurant more than once. Again, they offer good size portions at a very reasonable cost and above all, appeal to those who enjoy Chinese food.

Another location that can be counted among the best in the Norwalk area is the SHANGHAI CAFE located on Main Avenue. Though smaller than some of the other restaurants in the area, the Shanghai Cafe offers some great food choices with a unique taste. Here you will find a few dishes that are specialties of the Shanghai Cafe with a taste all of their own.

Those are just three of the numerous Chinese restaurants you will find in and around Norwalk, CT that are perhaps among the best you will find. Norwalk is like most cities in that you will find no end of restaurants available, though there are some you would never touch with a barge pole. Take a stroll downtown and you will come across some nasty looking outlets but thankfully, these are few and far between. Chinese restaurants have often had a bad press but much of this is grossly unfair as can be observed when you look at the likes of the Golden Million, Rice King and Shanghai Cafe. These are quality restaurants and there are many more to be found within the boundaries of Norwalk.

SPECIAL MENU DEALS

One tip to keep in mind as you go on the search around Norwalk for some Chinese or Cantonese cuisine. Make sure to look for the special offers available at certain times of the day. Some may have coupons available that can be used for those special deals or it may simply be the case that their special offers are based on times that are a bit slower for business. Ideally, you will find that eating earlier will cost a bit less than if you showed up at their busiest time in mid to late evening. Another point to keep in mind to ensure you get the best deal on your visit to a local Norwalk Chinese restaurant is to look for special deals on the menu. Sometimes the meals for two or meals for four are more reasonably priced and offer plenty of fare for your dollar.

If Chinese food is your choice, you can be sure you will have no trouble finding some genuine Oriental cuisine to suit your taste. Look around for the best deals and check out the restaurants named above and hopefully you will conclude that Norwalk is a place for fine food at a reasonable cost.

Best Chinese Restaurants in England. Chopsticks at the Ready!

Most of the best Chinese restaurants are often considered to be in London. Yauatcha and Hakkasan in the West End, Royal China in Queensway and Maxim’s in Ealing are three of London’s best and it would be tempting and easy to write a whole review without stepping out of the capital. Too many reviews are just based London despite the large amount of cooking talent outside the city but as I am feeling particularly adventurous I am setting out to find it for you.

1. Dynasty
Thomas Street, Bristol

Dynasty has been chosen by Alan Yau, the only man in Britain to have a Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant. I can almost stop writing this review now as this speaks for itself but not before I tell you about how amazing the dim sum is. The menu is more exotic than your average. Don’t worry, no birds nest soup here but if you fancy eels in black bean sauce then this, if anywhere, will be the place to try it.

2. Dragon- I
Hope Street, Glasgow

Charmingly designed, Chinese but with a modern twist this Glaswegian restaurant has shot to fame in Scotland since its recent opening. The low lighting and high ceiling create a sense of occasion and understated grandeur whilst the beautifully presented east fusion food melts in the mouth with an explosion of Chinese flavour.

3. Flaming Wok
Mile Hill, Porthtowan, Cornwall

Cornwall is overlooked for its eastern restaurants of which there are many. It can sometimes be hard to find very good but also reasonably priced food in this tourist trap area. Flaming Wok is one of the nicest Chinese restaurants I have had the pleasure to eat in with friendly service, tasty traditionally cooked dishes with no MSG to be found and a modern but comfortable interior. The fresh Lobster is an excellent addition to anyone’s dinner and the price won’t break the bank.

4. China Garden
Preston Street, Brighton.

There are not many Chinese restaurants in Brighton so competition is not fierce yet China Garden is lauded by locals as one of the best restaurants around. The dim sum is very well made and all the food is well presented attracting Chinese families for lunch and romantic couples for dinner. The atmosphere is best in the upstairs part of the restaurant and it is an excellent place to dine with large parties where you will receive lots of attention from the staff.

5. Red Chilli
Great George Street, Leeds

This place is always busy so it’s a good idea to book before you turn up. Cleanly presented dishes but some not for the squeamish (the head of the duck is attached and crispy as the rest of it). The food is not cloying or too sweet and doesn’t leave you with that familiar bloated Chinese takeaway feeling. Instead the dishes leave you wanting more but with a comprehensive and varied menu and good sized portions you definitely won’t be leaving that way.
