London is an exciting and diverse city, there is so much to discover. A visit to London should iof course nclude all the tourist favourites, the Tower of London, the Changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, clubs and theatres and the like. There are many more places to visit and things to do which the tourists often miss.
For a touch of elegance, take afternoon tea at the Ritz. You can combine afternoon tea with dancing in the old-fashioned way, go to a tea dance at one of London’s many hotels. There are many tea dances in London, even one especially for doing the Tango. There is sure to be something to please everyone.
Guided walks are another way to see the hidden London, there some unusual ones from Jack the Ripper and ghosts to Harry Potter.
A guided boat trip on the Thames will also tell you more about secret London. There are some interesting places that can only be seen from the river and the commentaries on the boats are most informative.
Shopping is a must in London, whether in Oxford street, Regents street or Harrods of Knightsbridge (do go down to the food hall and look at the work of art that is the fresh fish display), for Antiques, Portobello road market is de rigueur. On a Sunday go to Petticoat Lane Market and hear the banter of the stallholders.
Covent Garden used to be the site of London’s old flower and vegetable market. It is now a prestige pedestrianised shopping area with lots of interesting and specialized shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Look out for the street entertainers who must pass an audition by the city authorities to entertain in Covent Garden. You could end the day by seeing an opera or a ballet at the World famous Royal Opera House, Covent garden, home to The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet.
The great, and very famous, nightspots in London need no introduction but for something different try the following; for jazz music, The Crypt. At the Tyroler Hut, near Ladbroke Grove, you can try your hand at yodeling. Gordon’s Wine Bar claims to be the oldest in London and serves food. A special dinner or lunch can be had at the Savoy Grill at Covent Garden, where top celebrity chef Marcus Wareing rules the kitchen.

London travel is very exciting and enthralling for tourists as there are many spots to see and things to do in this historical city. But if you plan on travelling to London, you better chalk out your destinations carefully as there is a lot to see and you definitely don’t want to miss out on the ones you must see. Whether you’re looking for nightlife, history, or gardens or lakes you are sure to find it in London.
London is home to more than 200 galleries, 300 museums and over 100 or more events that happen every day so they are sure to be enough to keep you busy on your London trip.
You might want visit the Tate Museum after breakfast, pop over to Kensington Palace for lunch, and check out the display of Crown jewels at the Tower of London after dinner.
If you’re into fact finding, then Westminster Abbey is sure to be at the top of your list. Here, not only will you find excellent architecture, but you’ll also be able to see where many of the famous people in history came from. Borough market has been a popular trading place since time immemorial and has the atmosphere of a Moroccan bazaar complete with interesting and unusual Mediterranean foods.
London’s West End is home to many different pubs and restaurants where you can find anything to suit your palate and purse. While you’re there, don’t forget to watch one of those shows or performance. Some of them are said to be as good as or even better than that of Broadway.
A trip to London will not be complete without visiting one of the museums and you have a lot of museums to choose from. Science museums to natural history museums the choices are plenty. The Albert Museum and the British Museum are definite attractions.

The most popular attraction in London of course, standing amid breathtakingly beautiful landscape, is Buckingham Palace. What’s more, there are lovely parks close by where you can take a break while taking in the incredible view of palaces such as Windsor Castle which is also heavily visited.
The Palace of Westminster, otherwise known as the Houses of Parliament, is situated along the Thames River. Just east of the Palace of Westminster is the awesome Tower of Big Ben, which is truly a sight to see. The famous Victorian, three hundred foot clock tower is one of the most visited attractions.
The proximity of the bustling Piccadilly Square, where you can shop till you drop, puts you within walking distance of the popular attractions. This part of London is full of entertainment with its theaters, shops and friendly pubs where you can rub elbows with some of the locals. They love to brag to about their magnificent city of London, and can clue you in on some of London’s hidden hot spots.
The Trafalgar Square is where you will find the ever popular London Cafes for good food and friendly people.
